The trio Oral summarized in about ten minutes what most of us need in life. These ten minutes are quite terrifying, brutal and noisy but afterwards you may acquire the sober realization that we all are addicts of love, life, lust and (a bit of) lunacy, as the names of Oral pieces.
The three members of Oral – Brazilian vocalist Marcela Lucatelli and electric bass player Felipe Zenícola plus Norwegian drummer Ole Mofjell – met while studying at Copenhagen’s Rhythmic Music Conservatory. Oral recorded its self-titled, self-produced 10” vinyl in the Conservatory two years ago, and added more wild sounds at an Airbnb apartment in Ferrara, Italy, and in a studio in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Still, nothing can prepares for the sonic attack of Oral. This trio sounds as an alien organism that explodes on his local captives with a speedy series of aggressive, excruciating complaints. Oral insists that this kind of tectonic attack is not only a massive, reckless variation of free grind-core that brings the «untold realms of Anthropocene grief to the surface» but «actually just basic information management».
Sure, you can trust Oral. When the lobotomized earthlings choose deranged agent orange and his copycats as their leaders maybe there is no better medicine than the shock therapy of Oral.
