Why did I choose –

Paweł Brodowski, Jazz Forum:
Adam Makowicz, 77, is one the few living piano virtuosos in the tradition of Art Tatum, Erroll Garner and Oscar Peterson. „Swinging Ivories,” recorded live for Polish Radio at Witold Lutoslawski Concert Hall in Warsaw last November, it is Makowicz’s first new album in almost ten years. It features his own original compositions as well as standards from the Great American Songbook, displaying his stunnig virtuosity, lyrical touch and invention.

Mike Flynn, Jazzwise:
A highly imaginative follow up to the band’s Mercury nominated debut – Wonder Trai sees Laura Jurd’s band hitting their stride on an album that effortlessly blends folk, 1980s Krautrock, electronica and jazz with consistently captivating results.

Cim Meyer, Jazz Special:
A rare and successful fusion of three different musical traditions. And only a genuine jazz musician can do that.

Jan Granlie, salt-peanuts.eu
Misha Mengelberg was one of the most creative musicians in Europe since the 60’s, until he lest this world a few years ago. This recording is a rerelease og one of his best solo recordings, and it’s mostly relevant also today.
