Lux Boreal – dansk/norsk samarbeid på turné

Lux Boreal is a new traveling festival that brings together a selection of bands from Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland, presenting them at various venues throughout these four countries (it’s like the Nordic version of 1970’s ‘Festival Express’!)

This first edition we are calling a ‘soft launch’ as we are presenting two bands at six locations. Due to corona pressures we had to downsize the festival by 50%. Nonetheless, we are excited and proud to present this first Lux Boreal tour.

Slowburn (DK)
In a characteristic blend of weightless jazz and edgy impro-rock, Slowburn explores the universal energy among sound, people and memories, with an underlying spirituality. At this concert they will be performing music from their latest release Folketro, a highly concentrated, dynamic and orchestrated sound with ties to Nordic folklore, no wave, polyrhythmic rock and contemporary classical music. Slowburn is Lars Bech Pilgaard (guitar, composition), Lars Greve (saxophones and clarinets), Thommy Andersson (bass) and Thomas Eiler (drums).

Erlend Apneseth Trio (NO)
is one of Norway’s most innovative and active genre-free bands these days, combining the sound of Norwegian Folk Music, jazz and electronica in a very unique way. They have received several prizes and nominations for their four releases on the acclaimed label Hubro, including the Norwegian Grammy for their album ‘Salika, Molika’.
