On Friday August 25, 2023, Wayne Shorter would have been 90 years old. The master jazz musician, composer and philosopher of life died earlier this year on March 2, 2023.You may read our obituary here.
On Wednesday August 23, Herbie Hancock and others organized a gigantic celebration of Wayne Shorter at the Hollywood Bowl in Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles CA.
The celebration had several major guests, including an appearance of Joni Mitchell. Participants were luminaries such as esperanza spaulding, Ron Carter, Milton Nascimento, Terri Lyne Carrington, Jack DeJohnette, Kamasi Washington, Chris Potter, Marcus Miller, and others. Along with the members of Wayne Shorters longstanding «Footprints» Quartet; Danilo Perez, John Patitucci and Brian Blade.
