IMPORTANT: Promo copies to salt peanuts*
Are you sending us promo-CDs or vinyl for consideration for review? Are you sending them from outside of Norway? Due to recent changes in the system for imports, and problems in the interpretations and implementation of the new import rules, we will be strict on requiring your adherence to these regulations.
Read this text every time you send us review copies. The regulations found below may be changed on short notice.
If you do not follow these regulations your record will be returned to you unopened at your expense.
Follow these instructions below carefully, before sending any promo copies to us.
If you do not abide with these instructions, you risk that the handlers of Norwegian imports levy VAT — value added tax, or MVA, moms — on the post. If this happens, the post will be returned unopened at your expense. If return is not possible, we will have to charge you for the incurred costs and expenses.
As of January 1, 2024 VAT is levied on all imports with any value larger than zero. If you state any non-zero value, this will risk incurring an expense on us for VAT levied on the total value you have stated, and added handling costs of ca. €5,-.
We get hundreds of albums for review, so this is a cost we cannot accept. The record will be returned to you at your expense.

In most cases you will be required to use the simplified customs form, the CN22 Customs Declaration. In rare cases, your postal agent will require the CN23 Customs Declaration. Both are reproduced here. The colour markings show fields and information you are required to provide:
1) Specify your sender information with full address, see the red rectangle.
2) Make sure you cross (see the blue cross) for «GIFT», and nothing else.
3a) CN22: Fill in the text «Promo CD (or vinyl) – not for sale» in the Description of contents field, see the blue rectangle. Use CD or vinyl in accordance with the content of the package.
3b) CN23: If you are required by the postal organization to use the CN23 Customs Declaration, state the same information in the blue boxes, fields 1, 5, 6 and 9.
4) Declare the value and total value as zero, 0 in Norwegian NOKs or alternatively in the currency that is relevant. The stated value here is the commercial value, and is for customs purposes only. It is no statement of value for insurance or other purposes. Promo records have no commercial value; such copies are non-commercial items.
Some postal companies do not accept that you state a zero value. In this case, state Total value = 1, in your chosen currency, 1 €, 1 DKK or other.
