The inimitable E.S.T.

Burghausen 2001 & 2004

Suddenly it is almost seven years since Esbjörn Svensson drowned in a diving accident in the Stockholm skärgård, literally «skerries garden», or Stockholm Archipelago, on June 14, 2008. It is still unbelievable!

My impressions from the many concerts I was lucky to be at with the E.S.T. trio are still so vivid. It is unbelievable that it will soon be ten years since I last saw them in Oslo.

Here are videos of two performances of the E.S.T. trio in the Wackerhalle during the Jazzwoche Burghausen in Germany. The first one is from the 2001 festival, May 6, the second one from the 34th Jazzwoche in 2004: May 2, 2004. Both are recorded by Bayerische Rundfunk.
