ACT har i dag meddelt at 11. mai 2018 vil plateselskapet slippe et live-opptak fra The Barbican i London i 2005 med Esbjörn Svensson Trio, eller e.s.t. ACT skriver:
«Remembering Esbjörn Svensson: Munich / Berlin, 2018-03-06 (ACT) On June 14th exactly ten years have gone by since the tragic passing of Swedish Pianist Esbjörn Svensson in 2018. Preserving the memory of this arguably most influential European jazz musician of his decade, ACT will release the double album “e.s.t. live in London” on May 11th. The album was recorded at the completely sold-out Barbican Centre in 2005, part of a hugely successful and popular ten-date UK tour. After “e.s.t. Live ´95” (2001) and “e.s.t. Live in Hamburg” (2007), which was named the “Jazz album of the decade 2000–2010” by The London Times, this is the third regular e.s.t. live album and the first one after the passing of Esbjörn Svensson.
During the last ten years after the end of e.s.t. there have been constant reminders that the sound of the band cannot and will never be un-invented. Indeed it is hard to imagine a whole generation of currently highly successful young jazz bands all over the world, often attracting an audience of same age, without the deep and lasting influence of the sound and the aesthetic of e.s.t. It might sound like a cliché but it is evident that through his music, Esbjörn Svensson will stay with us forever.»
